YWMTU Update - October blog

Hope you are in good health within the comfort of your families as you read this. It
has been an eventful time for Your words matter to us! Starting from the grant
received to the events that have taken place till now, all has been a delightfulexperience for the Your words matter to us team. The team has been in action with
the recruitment program hoping to add as many people to the family as possible.                     Hello all,

Positions available in different departments are awaiting several young individuals
who are willing to be a helping hand in our organization, laying their assistance in
outreach, marketing, event creation and editing.
We had also wrapped up the “Speech writing event” in collaboration with GenPen.
The event revolved around teaching youth aged 11-18 about speech writing.
Prompts were given out where the participants were asked to read it out and direct
editing feedback was given to them. The event was a beneficial initiative for the age
group as in today’s world speech writing has become essential and the sessions
allowed the participants to express themselves through the speeches.
As usual, Your words matter to us is accustomed to the tradition of hosting
publishing events to assist young writers to get their work recognized by different
magazines including Surrey archives, Surrey Art Council, Closelook Magazine Aarzu
magazine and last but not the least Thai youth expressions! The event had taken place
till the 30th of August 2021, consuming as many applications as possible in areas like
activism, current events, social issues or if the participants wanted to get creative with
themselves, short stories and poems. Formerly, seven writers including Mireya Ho,
Kamna Sugar, Himangi Nair, Trishala Sharma, Paromita Das, Semanti Debray and
Sudiksha Kartika have been published with Thai youth expressions with their amazing
works!
Our organization was also able to secure a five-hundred-dollar grant from Simply
Generosity which had marked a point to help the organization grow. We are truly
humbled by all the support from the audience and could not thank them enough! We
hope to help as many writers as possible within reach! So stay tuned to help us!
Sincerely,
Your Words Matter to Us team
