YWMTU is proud to announce that we are hosting an all-new online editing support event for writers who would want to have an opportunity to have their work edited and viewed. 

Description:
Bring some writing work to share, and receive friendly suggestions and constructive feedback. You will have 10 minutes to share something, and later will be provided feedback. You will also have the opportunity to do the same for others and gain inspiration from their work.

What
Everyone can introduce themselves
Everyone will play a small ice breaker game
Receive some self-development opportunities and support from a published author
Later receive some publishing opportunities
Receive a certificate recognizing your efforts
Publish people’s work through a partnership with another organization
Publish work on our social media and Close Look,teamroobaroo and writing_wonders_organizations

Who:
Writers of various skill levels and interests(activism,current events,social issues, short stories/poems) looking for opportunities for development, self expression, and recognition

When: The deadline to submit all works will be on February 28th (PST)

Where
Online platform through submissions on google forms

Benefits:
Self development: The support we provide will assist you in developing your work
You will also be provided a certificate of appreciation, and further publishing opportunities as well
Your work will be published on our and Closelook’s social media, teamroobaroo and writing_wonders_organizations, asf youth

The Spirit of Christmas 
"It's getting a lot like .Everywhere you go~" That's right, YWMTU is launching a Christmas spirit event that will be gathering people who just can't wait to spread their Christmas joy through poetry!! Event details are listed on the poster posted on our Instagram account.

Open Mic 
We are doing another Open Mic event that will operate as usual. Those who want to get their work recognized by the community, this is the right event for you! The event will be hosted on Zoom on December 23ird. DON'T MISS IT!!

Quarantine letter event:
If you are interested in cheering people up during this difficult time with the power of words. This event is the 'write' one for you. You will have a chance to meet other people who are passionate in bring positivity to the elderly and children in our community. 
Volunteer hours will be given out and you also get a chance to meet author Hieldi Greco.

Words Touch Soul:
For those who want to get their work published and recognized by the public. This can be either be artistic work or literature. Anyone can join! Feel free to submit as many works as possible. Volunteer hours will be given out as well.

Your Words Matter To Us Inception : The Writing and Open Mic Event began in June 2019 and has been continuing since. The bi-monthly booklet started in December 2019 Your Words Matter To Us Who are we: Your words Matter To Us is a student-led program that supports people of all various ages in their professional and personal development. We offer monthly writing, and open mic events, and create a bi-monthly magazine called Words Touch Souls. Goal: We wish to foster a community where people can be their most authentic selves. They will able to shed light on their endeavours, topics of passions, political events and global issues. They will be able to promote themselves and their organizations as well.
