  • Our publishing event welcomes all walks of life to share their story and passion in a public spotlight.

  • Details:

  • Who:
  • Writers of various skill levels and interests(activism,current events,social issues, short stories/poems) looking for opportunities to get their work published in YWMTU's platforms

  • What:
  • All work that was edited in the Online editing support event is eligible to be submitted to this
  • Up to 3 1000 word articles and 5 poems of any word length
  • 10 art pieces are allowed to be submitted

  • Why:
  • Be part of Words Touch Souls, as part of Aakj
  • Shared on our social media,
  • CloseLook production’s social media,
  • Work shared could go towards-
  • surrey archives
  • Surrey Art Council,
  • Closelook Magazine
  • Aarzu magazine

  • The due date to submit all works will be March 31th.

Your Words Matter To Us Inception : The Writing and Open Mic Event began in June 2019 and has been continuing since. The bi-monthly booklet started in December 2019 Your Words Matter To Us Who are we: Your words Matter To Us is a student-led program that supports people of all various ages in their professional and personal development. We offer monthly writing, and open mic events, and create a bi-monthly magazine called Words Touch Souls. Goal: We wish to foster a community where people can be their most authentic selves. They will able to shed light on their endeavours, topics of passions, political events and global issues. They will be able to promote themselves and their organizations as well. We hope to provide people with: -Education -Self-expression -Community -Recognition -Inspiration -Awareness  Our support -South Surrey Recreation Center -Crescent Choir -Simple generosity -Federation of Bc Writers -Pandora
